 I recommend you watch these in this order...

1. Fullmetal Alchemist  - 강철의 연금술사
     It aired in 2003 51 episodes total

2. Fullmetal Alchemist movie: Conqueror of Shamballa - 강철의 연금술사: 샴발라를 정복하는 자
     MOVIE~~ (2005)

3. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
    It aired in 2009 61 Episodes

4.Fullmetal Alchemist movie(2):The Sacred Star of milos -강철의 연금술사: 미로스의 성스러운별
  MOVIE~~ (2011)

I was on NETFLIX looking at anime selection... and saw that some of the anime I love and  some of the anime I was going to watch were going to discontinue after few weeks......

SO I decided to watch it before it expires. I know different sites I could watch it but the convenience of Netflix is unbeatable. If you have Netflix you know what I am talking about...


I hope they bring the animes back

 I am gonna try to write this without to much spoiler..
There is two major Full Metal Alchemist anime series (not including the movies).

The  Fullmetal Alchemest anime series that aired in 2003

and

The Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood aired in 2009.



I thought brotherhood was the second season before i watched it... and boy, I was wrong....


Simple version...
The author wanted more developed characters in Fullmetal Alchemist manga so the storyline/ ending end up being different in 2003 anime.

Often in manga turned anime or drama or movie/ live action series it happens where manga's ending is completely different because it ends up being ahead of manga or sometimes manga is too long and to provide watchers with closure so they change the ending/ storyline....(vice verse)
ie. paradise kiss. the anime/manga ending was completly different from the live action / movie.


So they came up with Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood where they followed the manga storyline...
the ending the characters lives? are different..
